Review

I don't know what to say about this flawless product and Grammy-winner. Not precisely a jazz album and should not be under the name Ry Cooder (he produces only minimum effort to make this album work). The heroes of this album are a bunch of unknown Cuban players. They play so well that can embarrass a lot of talentless moneymakers such as Spice Girls, Will Smith, and virtually all techno musicians. What's on it? Well, the well-informed booklet provides self-explanatory info. These guys play whatever they feel like in a no-pressure environment. All the recordings were recorded live and there was no overdubbing of any kind. A true, natural work of art. No. 6 is a great harmonical choral piece. "Murmullo" and title track "Buena Vista Social Club" are unforgettable ballads. Get the CD and listen to it again and again. Need I say more?
