Review
What puts this compilation together should deserve a
dear award - it turns out to be Sony's Bob Irwin and
Stevie's blood brother, the less talented Jimmy Vaughan.
But the mere fact that this long awaited set was produced
has to contribute to the unbending effort of lovers
of SRV music and the moaning of his fans. And viola
this boxset! Though not every SRV hit is included, the
set is a combination of arguably his best studio work
and some of his smashing unreleased live performances,
which makes this boxset all the more valuable. The DVD
is especially a treat because we can view the legendary
SRV on stage with such a king's like appearance and
his handling of various situations (introducing band
members, still playing like a pro while his string was
detached...). This is the best blues boxset in a very
long time, at least the best one after EC's Crossroads
2.
