Jack's - Best CD Store in Boston
1686
Mass Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138 (Porter Square T Station)
Tel: (617) 497 9447
Open 7 Days a Week, Stereo Jack's is a tiny store
that specializes in jazz and blues CD's and records and
has the cheapest and widest range of items in stock. Their
used CD's are on average at $4.99 and there are many appetizing
items. The store is run by three old hippies who have
exquisite knowledge in music (think storekeepers in "High
Fidelity"). Hands down the best CD store in the Boston
area.

Jazz at Concord, Massachusetts
Who
would think a small town like Concord, MA has some coolest
jazz sounds in New England? Concord, a 45-minute train
ride from Boston, is not necessarily a jazz heaven, but
The Workingman's Jazz Band provides some of the
greatest entertainment every Friday night from 8-11 p.m.
at Concord's Colonial Inn, specializing in jazz
standards like "Sweet Lorriane" & "Have
You Met Miss Jones?," featuring Ric Maure (piano),
Rick Maida (bass) & Terry Marsh (drums).

or blues performances in the week). Also check out Bluejay

54: Revival of Latin Jazz
The
BVSC of Latin Jazz. Spanish director Fernando Trueba
(Belle Epoque, Two Much) pays homage to some largely
forgotten Latin jazz artists: Paquito D'rivera, Michel
Camilo, Chucho and Bebo Valdes, Jerry Gonzalez, Eliane
Elias, Cachao, Gato Barbieri and Tito Puente (one of his
last recordings). All taped 'live-in-the-studio' with
very little interview footage. Trueba films it in a more
traditional and "safer" method than Wim Wenders'
handheld style in BVSC. A true all-star treat for anyone
interested in real, heartfelt Latin music. The showing
I saw, the audience burst into 5 different applauses.
Soundtrack can be found at CDNow.com.

18th NW, Washington DC 20036 USA Tel: (202) 293-7753) Beautiful
girls. Cool music. Classy environment. A nice and elegant
hangout place for yuppies and swift individuals for
after hours parties. 18th
Street Lounge is never advertised and operates strictly
on a word-of-mouth basis. The music is often acid-jazzy,
hip-hoppish, laid-back Braziliian
selections. ESL has its own record
label and produces DJ only CDs for their good stuff.
The girls are always as beautiful as they are well-dressed.
Guys are, hmm..., occasionally scumbags, but most of
the time well-behaved. If you're looking for a fun evening
for either a date or a relaxing atmosphere, this place
is hands down the best club in DC!! Oh, did I mention
beautiful girls? go

Jul
12, 2000 HBO
is proud to present Santana
Supernatural Live! on July 15 (Sat) 10:45 p.m. For
those who are not familiar with Carlos Santana,
he was the most emotional and fiery hispanic guitar
player who received his worldwide fame in the 70's
with hits like "Black Magic Woman," "Oye Como Va,"
"Europa," and "Evil Ways." His career went downhill
starting in the 80's, but he is having a tremendous
comeback performance at this instance after his
multi-platinum selling"Supernatural" album with
the hit song "Smooth." Don't miss his emotional
and poignant performance on HBO! Maybe Eric Clapton
is his guest, stay tuned!
