Review
One of
the most anticipated live recordings in jazz. I am glad
that Legacy came out with a remastered version. Every
song on this set sound great. Featuring the immaculate
Charlie Rouse on sax, the Monk quartet plays every damn
song to the fullest. Most of the songs are above 6 minutes
long. I mean, these guys don't hold back and have fun
with the songs. That's what jazz improvisation is all
about. Also check out Ben Riley on those drums and Larry
Gales on the bass. No steal-stealing, they just work
well altogether. A fabulous jazz recording!
