Rollins wrote an appropriate score for this movie and
fits the Michael Caine-Alfie character really well.
So from now on, every time I see Michael Caine, I think
of this theme song. It's very jazzy and classy, as is
the whole album. This is just one of those albums you
listen to when you go to bed or say sweet nothings to
your lovers. The music is very seductive, as Rollins
himself is a seductive artist. This can be seen as one
of Rollins' best works and perhaps the best jazz theme
ever recorded next to Bernard Herrman's "Taxi Driver"
theme.
