Review
It
would be unethical if I did not give this disc an A.
This is the jazz that I've always wanted to hear and
Teddy Edwards, perhaps the most impressive tenor sax
player I've ever heard (up there with Scott Hamilton),
shines in this underrated yet extraordinary west coast
masterpiece. None of Edwards' sidemen are superstars,
but they do a great job backing up Edwards and make
him stand out without stealing the whole scene. Edwards
has a warm sax sound and he knows how to capture his
audience. This CD is under SBM which makes the sound
even better. This is an album that is worth coming back
to again and again.
