Review
We
wouldn't be here today if this CD wasn't released. This
groundbreaking live CD recording redefines what live
music is all about and how creative musicians should
be. Some bands perform live exactly the way the sound
on their albums. So why should we bother to attend their
concerts when just listening to their CDs would suffice?
Eagles, after decades of departure, came back with a
stunning lineup and arrangement of songs, to a point
where it is almost shocking to hear, for instance, and
in particular, "Hotel California." Not only
does it breaktakingly use all acoustic instruments (the
fishstring guitars are fabulous sounding here), but
it almost makes us forget the old version, the version
we used to love. The reality is, this version surpasses
the old one and we love it more than anything else.
And that's what I call a successful live concert, and
these musicians here demonstrate what musicianship is
all about - always changing, always taking risks, no
compromises. That's my motto now for life. Other songs
are great also, like "Tequila Sunrise," "Wasted
Time" and "Desparado." Do me a favor,
get this on DVD so you can see the Eagles live on stage
with heart and soul.
