Review
Everyone
knows that Chris Isaak may have the most beautiful voice
in the recording industry today. He's a blend of Elvis
Presley and Roy Orbison with a slight touch of Dean Martin.
He became famous after singing "Wicked Game"
in David Lynch's "Wild at Heart." Stanley Kubrick
also uses Isaak's "Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing"
as the icon song in "Eyes Wide Shut." That shows
that Isaak's vocal has a certain sex appeal, too. This
album, "Baja Sessions" is Isaak's best work
to date. It's very mellow, like sitting down under Hawaiian
sunset, playing guitar and singing love songs to your
lover. Isaak pays tribute to all his heroes: Presley,
Orbison, Martin, Frank Sinatra plus a few of his own compositions.
This is undoubtedly an audiophile recording after remastering
by HDCD. A fun album to own!
