Review
Writer-director
Cameron Crowe (Jerry McGuire, Say Anything, Singles)
was a teenager when Rolling Stone magazine sent him
out to write cover stories in the 1970s. Nearly 30 years
later, Crowe tells the tale in satisfying fashion and
extensive detail with Almost Famous, accompanied by
a soundtrack that accurately reflects the time of his
trial by fire. This album also refutes the erroneous
belief that Elton John is not a legitimate rock artist.
He is, and you'll see why. His song "Tiny Dancer"
made the album and, in fact, the film itself. From now
on, people will remember Elton John as a rock, rock,
rock artist in addition to his Disney's Lion King fame.
The best film of 2000 so far (not counting "High
Fidelity").
