Review
For
those who have seen "The Thin red Line," you'll
remember Director Terrence Malick spends a lot of time
to portray the beautiful African island to show the
peaceful side of the war. His attempt is a courageous
one, and I admire him for it; no one has done it before
(not even Francis Ford Coppola in "Apocalypse Now").
And the lovely music behind all those peaceful scenes
results in this absolutely great soundtrack, sung by
the very same African natives who play and sing happily
in the film. This kind of music makes us realize besides
life can still be great without being wealthy or extravagant.
Pure, peaceful music is what happiness is all about.
This type of music takes us back to enjoying nature,
and the natural way of living. No war, no extra noise,
just plain, sweet hymns traveling through the air, unlike
the stupid ska, techno, heavy metal shit we hear nowadays.
This is natural African music unlike the artificial
"The Lion King" by Elton John and "Tarzan"
by Phil Collins, even though I admire their efforts
abd guts in transforming African songs to fit Disney.
Life can be so good. I wish I were that pure sometimes.
