Review
18 fantastic beat selections mixed by Ursula
1000, a designated DJ of ESL label and Thievery
Corporation. The first four tunes are the highlight
of this incredible CD. Le Hammond Inferno is sothern
fried groove. England's Skeewiff is a kitschy lounge-flavored
track that's characteristic of the Brighton sound
and reminds me of Xaviar Cugat's old Cuban favorites..
Lemon's "Mr. Bongo" is just groovy as heck,
spinning an orange like a bloody mango.
Upbeat
melodies are what make this album not boring to listen
to. If you like general ESL releases like Thievery and
Nicola Conte, this CD is a bonus. If you like
a strong Brazilian influence over jazzy, laid-back grooves,
this one is also a must. If you like DJ spinning turnables
at arms length, pick up "All Systems A Go-Go"
and you'll know what a great mix album it is.
