Review
A fun album to own. McCoy Tyner works magic here with Michael Brecker, who is an expert on the sax. Highlights are "Flying High," "Happy Days" and McCoy Tyner's mesmering solo on "Blues Stride" will take your soul away. This album is a comeback for McCoy Tyner and the first time he rejoined Impulse after he departed with Coltrane in the 60's. In the liner notes, McCoy says that he and Coltrane are the very first artists who joined the Impulse label. So this album is a symbolic effort for him. Interesting to note that this album was recorded and engineered by Rudy Van Gelder, and he unites with Tommy LiPuma, Michael Cuscuna and McCoy after all these years.
