Review
The legendary vibraphonist (on par
with Lionel Hampton and Milt Jackson) enters
the Latin Jazz territory after a couple decade of absence
from the jazz world. Don't know what he was doing but he really
gets it right this time. Backed by an all-star group, Pike
shines as the soloist and leader, blending his talent with
rhythm that makes you want to dance salsa. The one who shines
here is trumpet Carl Saunders. His many solos are skilled
as well as inspired. He, together with Pike, makes this album
worth listening to. A flawless album.
